Hi All,

Sorry to have not posted in a long while, but we have been busy preparing for a big move. Literally!

After 8 years here in Honolulu, I am moving back to the Seattle area. With our growing boys getting bigger by the minute, its important for them to know their extended family, and we are looking forward to this next big adventure!

Be on the lookout for some exciting changes at this website soon! (Including a change in the name to reflect the expansion of my teaching!)

And in more great news, my teacher Guro Burton Richardson has promoted me to Battlefield Kali Stick 2nd Degree Instructor, and Battlefield Kali Knife 1st Degree Instructor. The knife curriculum has been formalized in this past year and I am honored to be the first Instructor he has promoted for the knife system.

Walker Langley, GM Maglinti, Guro Burton Richardson, myself, and Scott Ishihara after our 2nd degree Instructor Test

Guro Richardson has been the most knowledgeable and most generous instructor I have ever worked with, and I am very grateful to have been able to work with him closely over the years here in Hawaii, and look forward to continued training with him in this next phase of my life.

I watched this video a couple weeks ago, and it just blew me away with the irrefutable science.

There are lots of claims out there by the “alternative” medicine community, regarding “this or that” being bad for you. But here is a presentation that lays it out in simple basic science. This is no theory or conjecture, but simply what happens in the body when you ingest fructose.

In the past few months, I had gotten into the habit of drinking juice mixed with soda water. A simple, homemade soda. So much healthier than the soda pop you buy out there right? No high fructose corn syrup, or phosphoric acid, just carbonated water and 100% fruit juice. What could be wrong with that?

Well, I noticed that I had been carrying a little more weight on my belly than I ever had. I had attributed it to the fact that I haven’t been as active since our twin boys were born. I used to train upwards of 18 hours a week (90 minutes of yoga 6 days a week, 3 hours of martial arts training twice a week, and 2-3 hours of CST training throughout the week).

After watching this video, I cut juice out of my diet. And just the other day I noticed that my waist was looking much more like it did when I was training so intensely, and I have been lucky to train 6 hours a week! It’s remarkable what one simple change in eating did!

Take some time to watch what this doctor has to say, it’s well worth it.
